Plotline

Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 24, 2026

The short version: Plotline doesn't collect personal information. You don't create an account, you don't give us your email, and we don't track you across the web. We only store what's necessary to run the game.

Who we are

Plotline: Story Party Game is developed by Brandon Moon. The game is available at plotlinegame.com.

What we collect

When you play Plotline, we temporarily store:

We do not collect email addresses, passwords, phone numbers, location data, or any other personal information. There are no accounts and no login.

How we use it

The data above exists solely to make the game work:

Once a game ends, the completed story is archived to our database so the room link stays shareable. We use this data for nothing else — no marketing, no profiling, no selling.

Data retention

Completed game stories are stored in our database (hosted by Turso) so that players can revisit or share their story after the game ends. We don't have a fixed deletion schedule for archived stories, but we don't use this data for any purpose other than serving the story back to the players who made it.

If you'd like a specific game's data deleted, email us at brandonkmoon@gmail.com and we'll take care of it.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to understand how people use the site. Plausible is privacy-friendly by design: it uses no cookies, stores no personal data, and does not track you across websites. The data it collects is aggregate only (page views, referrers, general device type) and is not shared with any advertising networks.

You can read Plausible's own privacy policy at plausible.io/privacy.

Third parties

Plausible Analytics is the only third-party service we use. We do not use advertising networks, social media trackers, or any other third-party tracking tools. We do not sell or share your data with anyone.

Children's privacy

Plotline is a party game intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because we don't require any account creation or personal details to play, the game naturally collects very little information from any player regardless of age. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information through the game, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to this privacy policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We don't anticipate significant changes given how little data the game involves.
